Make these easy gold arch earrings using the new Cut Clay Studio cutters
If you’re into crafts, particularly clay, and follow DIY bloggers or instagram influencers, you are sure to know Fall For DIY, and the creative behind the successful blog, business and more recently book, Fran. As if all of that, as well as raising two children and renovating her own property wasn’t enough, she’s also designed and developed a range of clay cutters. I was lucky enough to be sent some to try out, and although there was no obligation for me to write this post, I wanted to share what I thought of them with you, as well as how to use one to create these gold arch earrings.
When I’ve looked to see what cutters are out there before, I have to say I’ve been pretty disappointed. Clay cutters seem to be targeted at a younger audience, sold in sets and often in pretty uninteresting and bog standard shapes (stars, hearts, circles, etc). I wasn’t sure what to expect from Cut Clay Studio but just before the launch, I was lucky enough to get the chance to test some out and to give some feedback, and I’m pleased to say I was not disappointed.
Each cutter has a lovely sharp (but not too sharp) edge so it goes through the clay easily without creating little tears or squashed edges, and the cutters are available in interesting, modern and on trend shapes that you’ll actually want to use. We all need to be thinking about our plastic consumption and not only are the cutters created from a bio plastic, all the packaging is recycled, reusable and recyclable. You can buy cutters individually and in various sizes for what I think are very reasonable prices and as long as you treat them well, they feel like they’re going to last a pretty long time.
