If you follow me over on instagram or a regular visitor here, you might have seen that not so long ago we added some minimal panelling to the wall that will become our office space. We decided to keep it white for now, whilst we still have our Ikea hacked green desk, but a friend of ours is very kindly making us a desktop out of scaffold boards and so it’s likely we’ll change the wall colour in the not so distant future. We’re all ready for the desktop, and bought three IKEA Alex drawers for the base, so other than chairs we are very nearly there. There’s a large blank wall to the left of our office space though that I’ve been wondering about, and so when Photowall kindly reached out to collaborate, I thought of this wall straight away.
I’ve worked with Photowall before and loved the quality and ease of putting together a custom canvas from them so I was really excited to try something else from else. They also offer wallpapers, wall murals and canvases, as well as posters and framed prints, in a variety of patterns, photographs and illustrations, and like I did last time, you can upload your own image and turn them into wallpaper, canvases, framed prints and posters. As tempted as I was with their wallpaper, our property is new build and still drying out so I opted instead for an art print.
They have have such a huge range of prints from modern photographs to abstract art that after going through almost all of them I found it pretty impossible to narrow it down to just one. After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing with the other half, we finally got there, and we chose this beautiful print called ‘Black Orchidee’. We ordered it as a 50x70cm print, and although we opted for the smoked ash poster hanger which was lovely, it was a little too large and so we instead got a black frame from IKEA to display it in.
I’m so pleased with the quality and look of the print and how it looks in the room. It’s completely elevated this otherwise boring wall, and compliments our current minimal decor - and will with our future not-so-minimal decor.
