This post has been a long time coming. Seeing as we’re in between homes at the moment so art & crafts projects are few and far between, and in Lockdown 2.0, I thought it was a good time to finally share some snaps of one of my favourite wedding invites. Over the years, I've contributed to several of my friends' wedding invitation suites, and a couple of years ago, I painted this autumnal floral wreath for my friends Christian and Lou. They gave me such lovely feedback, as have my other friends, and although they’re probably biased, it’s really boosted my confidence and for a while now I’ve been thinking that I’d like to sell some of my designs.
I’m always pretty shocked when people either ask me or accept my offer of designing their wedding invites, but I love doing it and being able to contribute in some way to their big day. I used a combination of watercolour paint and pencil here for the wreath, and a copper-coloured sharpie for the hand-lettering, before editing in Photoshop. I loved how it turned out, and hope when I do get up and running selling invites, that I’ll be able to include this design. What do you think?
