Keep it simple this year with this quick, easy and minimal scandi Christmas wrapping
What. A. Year. 2020 sure has been eventful. I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas. This year has gone by so quickly. Christmas does usually spring up on me - I’ve never been the most organised when it comes to cards and pressies - but this year it seems to have come out of no where. With all the restrictions and bubbles, it’s a more complicated Christmas than ever, and so I decided to keep my wrapping and decorations quick, simple and earthy. There’s something so calming and grounding about natural colours, and if ever there was a year that we all deserve some calm at Christmas, it’s this one (whatever it might end up looking like). I hope you all love how this turned out as much as me, do let me know what you think. It’s pretty simple, but the steps of how I did it are below. Let me know if you have a go!
Wooden Shapes
Twine / String
Fine Liner
Brown Paper
Decide how many wooden snowflakes you’d like on your present.
Take this number of wooden shapes and draw out some simple snowflake designs on them using a black fine liner. No need for them to match perfectly as no two snowflakes are ever the same. I found my hexagonal wooden shapes in Hobbycraft and I think I’ve seen similar on Etsy but really you could use any shape you wanted.
Whilst those are drying, wrap up your present in brown recyclable paper.
Next, wrap twine and white string around the package and secure.
Grab a sprig of some greenery and secure this under the middle where the twine crosses. I used hot glue to secure mine.
Finally, decide where to place the snowflakes and use hot glue to secure them on.
