Let’s bring in the 2023 festive season with 23 Christmas DIY ideas!
Christmas is my absolute favourite time of year, and there’s nothing I love more than a Christmas craft. I’ve made many a Christmas craft over the years, and so to bring in the 2023 festive period I thought I would share 23 of my past Christmas DIY and craft projects. H&M Inspired Standing Christmas Tree
Minimal and clean, this standing tree goes with any decor style, and is robust enough to bring out year after year.

Slatted Wood Christmas Tree Skirt
Hide the unsightly base of your Christmas tree with a handmade wooden Christmas tree skirt. I used large lollipop sticks for the slats and finished it off with a medium oak stain but you could use strips of wood to make a larger skirt and paint in any colour you want.

There’s something so Christmassy about little houses and so a few years ago I created a folding minimal Christmas village from MDF scraps. So cute!

Paper crafts have been very popular over the past couple of years. I made this back in 2017 and it’s still one of my favourite Christmas creations! I still get them out every year, and although they’re not quite as bright as they were, they still look great.

This was an experiment gone right with my Cricut! I love my Cricut and it was so satisfying to be able to create my own gift boxes using cardstock with it.

Air-dry clay is a staple for me, you can make so much from it, and I love this easy star candle holder that I made a couple of years ago.

Need a quick and easy last minute way of decorating your presents? Draw some nordic house designs onto kraft labels and stick these on top of your parcel!

Printable Festive Wrapping Paper
If you fancy something a bit more elaborate, you can download this minimal pink Christmas tree wrapping paper and add some sparkle on top yourself!

Corrugated Cardboard Bauble Upcycle
This was a bit more complex, but I think these baubles turned out great. All you need for this is an old bauble, corrugated cardboard, glue and paint!

This is such an easy way to add some festive sparkle to a plain pillar candle from polymer clay.

Minimal Christmas Wreath Cushion
Another great Cricut project, the possibilities with a Cricut really are endless! I saw a cushion I wanted from H&M but once I realised it was sold out, I went about designing and creating my own version.

Another cheap and easy way to add some handmade decorations to your Christmas tree. I love wood tones on my tree, and love the cute little tassels at the bottom!

Repurposed Cardboard Star Garland
We all need to recycle and repurpose more, so why not use up some of those cardboard boxes to create a cardboard star garland!

Preserve important flowers to you and bring them out every Christmas by making these minimal floral resin Christmas tree ornaments!

This was a bit of an experiment at the time - who knew fabric paint would work so well to create a textured pattern - but it did and I decorate my tree with these copper textured baubles every year.

I love minimal Christmas decor, and so I was really pleased with this star light up wreath when I made it. I added just a sprig of faux eucalyptus for a touch of green but you could add berries or something sparkly.

Another H&M inspired bit of Christmas decor, and this one was made entirely from air-dry clay. I painted it a dark green and then sealed it with a layer of mod podge.
